Yeah, the only problem is that 5 to 11 is a huge difference in reading/comprehension level.

Yep, that's true. A bright 11-year-old with the inclination to try to spell and use punctuation correctly could probably masquerade as an ordinary poster in most situations. A five-year-old would need to be basically led through by their parents.

My son like unicorns. Definitely a plus if in a few years we had a bunch of kids who could form a group and adventure together in a G-rated module. My wife might even go for that...

Well, 12 might not be too early for a normal game. To fix the age difference problem, El Jefe's daughter could join a normal game, and the Lew4Kidz game would be for the other three... though 5 and 9 is still not a small difference.

Though, it's not inconceivable the two older ones could be party leaders, helping the two younger ones along when they need help.

PbP might also be too slow paced for them, though... waiting a day for a response is forever when you're 5! Need to think of a solution for that one...

Obviously they'd have to pick someone like me, Bront, or Patlin for a GM, where they can get their responses fairly fast (based on the early speed of some IA sections, Festival of Halina, and some of Patlin's adventures)

Hmm...the two older ones as party leaders? Somehow that reminds me of the Chronicles of Narnia. Just make sure Manzanita's son doesn't eat any Turkish delight :]

My general recomendation would be for little ones to game a time or two with the parents at a table before they try here, just to get a little idea of the rules and the game. No experience other than my own history to go on, but when I was young, my dad ran a game for some of my friends, and later, I (at the age of 10) gamed with some of his friends (youngest was 30). It was a maturing experience, some of my fondest childhood memories, and I learned a lot of how the rules of the game worked.

Well, we can't guarantee that they'd all be online at the same time to be able to take advantage of a faster-paced GM. If they were going to dedicate an extended period of time on a schedule (kids and schedules?), they might as well play an IRC game. I was thinking longer posts, where they could respond to a number of things at a time, but I'm not sure how well that'd work.

And, the kids would likely enjoy a Narnia-like game...

Hey, Rystil... are you making a group to hunt me down? If so, I think that's something I'd appreciate knowing.

Yeah, my five year old couldn't realistically play. I'd be darn proud of her if she could read a whole adventure thread, let alone participate in one. She's starting kindergarten in about a month. I may show her a thread and let her try to get through it, just to enahnce the whole "reading is good!" concept.

Ok, now that bears some explanation... :D. Which thread is that about?
