Yep, that's true. A bright 11-year-old with the inclination to try to spell and use punctuation correctly could probably masquerade as an ordinary poster in most situations. A five-year-old would need to be basically led through by their parents.Jdvn1 said:Yeah, the only problem is that 5 to 11 is a huge difference in reading/comprehension level.
Obviously they'd have to pick someone like me, Bront, or Patlin for a GM, where they can get their responses fairly fast (based on the early speed of some IA sections, Festival of Halina, and some of Patlin's adventures)Jdvn1 said:Well, 12 might not be too early for a normal game. To fix the age difference problem, El Jefe's daughter could join a normal game, and the Lew4Kidz game would be for the other three... though 5 and 9 is still not a small difference.
Though, it's not inconceivable the two older ones could be party leaders, helping the two younger ones along when they need help.
PbP might also be too slow paced for them, though... waiting a day for a response is forever when you're 5! Need to think of a solution for that one...
Well, we can't guarantee that they'd all be online at the same time to be able to take advantage of a faster-paced GM. If they were going to dedicate an extended period of time on a schedule (kids and schedules?), they might as well play an IRC game. I was thinking longer posts, where they could respond to a number of things at a time, but I'm not sure how well that'd work.Rystil Arden said:Obviously they'd have to pick someone like me, Bront, or Patlin for a GM, where they can get their responses fairly fast (based on the early speed of some IA sections, Festival of Halina, and some of Patlin's adventures)
Hmm...the two older ones as party leaders? Somehow that reminds me of the Chronicles of Narnia. Just make sure Manzanita's son doesn't eat any Turkish delight![]()
