Yeah, you shouldn't get XP for an assistant-run job. If you don't get something from your job, it's supposedly because you are busy earning XP the "proper" way.

Hmm, no comment on the Craft Points? Oh well, I'll wait for further responses.

In the meantime, however, I wanted to ask if there was a policy about using published material for adventures in LEW? Given the huge number of adventurers waiting in the RDI, and Rystil Arden's comments in the thread recently about not necessarily being able to accommodate all those 1st level PCs (I hope I'm not misquoting you, RA), I was wondering about offering to DM an adventure. I don't, however, have time to write something, so wondered if a Side Trek from Dungeon magazine might be acceptable.

I'm suggesting a Side Trek because it'll be my first attempt at DMing a PbP :uhoh: , so I thought a vignette would be a better place to start. :)

You are indeed correct. Though there will be ~6 adventures opening up, I would estimate not a great number of slots for 1st-level characters. Maybe 1 adventure would be suitable for a very lowbie group, and we probably have more than 1 party's worth based on previous experience.

As to using Dungeon adventures, it's been done before, but you need to mod it to fit with LEW and then announce to potential players in case they've played the original. Otherwise, it's perfectly okay.

A quick addition to the dungeon adventures line, its okay for DMs to use what ever they want against the pcs, but the pcs cannot end up with published material beyond core in their hands (spells and magic items as well as feats, prcs, etc)

I believe that the line on magic items is very lenient. Certainly true for spells though.

As one of those with a L1 character ready to go, I think that’s a wonderful idea ‘nock. Everyone in the RDI is jostling for position to make sure their voice is heard. Like a stampede I tells ya. There’ll certainly be no shortage of willing participants!

Also, pleased to see that RA has a heap of adventures opening up. I dunno where you get the time for that many, but definitely good to see.

I’d like to consider running an adventure myself sometime down the track (after I settle in a bit). I assume that the best approach is to contact the judges first when you have a module or similar prepared. Yeah?

I am stepping down as a judge for Living Enworld and Living Eberron. I am burned out, I suspect, and probably have been for a while already. I have had occasional short periods where I was simply not visiting ENWorld for no real good reason, and that is not a good thing for a judge or player to do (or for a moderator, for that matter, and I've already drawn the same consequences there).

I've had fun, it was a great and important experience for me, and I will stay here as a player, but only as a player. I'd like to thank my current co-judges, all the former judges, and all the players and DMs who have helped shape Living Enworld into the active and interesting campaign world it has become.
