General video game discussion

Oh, I still enjoy XCOM, and when I really get the mood for it I'll start with that one. It's just that I know I'll then want to dive into XCOM 2 afterwards, so it's a longer commitment.
Technically if you want to do the canon playthrough you should go 1/3 of the way through XCOM and then lose, before starting XCOM2. So that saves some time.

I just bought BG3, though I'm still pondering which sort f character to make for my first playthrough. I'm pretty excited to dive into it once I know what race/class I want to try first.
Please don’t talk about BG3! Every time someone mentions it, I am compelled to start another playthrough.

Play whatever you enjoy, but bear in mind that different races and classes have vastly different amounts of reactivity (if that matters to you). e.g. Drow and Githyanki have tons of custom dialogue options, while Halflings get sweet FA. It’s a great game, whatever you pick, but something to think about.

Try impossible mode. 500% hp, + 3 actions,+3 bonus actions for the AI.

I love Half-Life 1 mods. I recently played Field Intensity and I absolutely loved it. I'd rank it higher than Opposing Force, absolutely recommended to any Half-Life fan, feels like an official expansion.

How does it hold up? I’ve always wanted to try it; I’m a big fan of Age of Wonders 1, which I believe was inspired by MoM. However, I find older games pretty user-unfriendly, usually with garbage UI - at least the ones I didn’t play as a lad (Which are perfect and unimpeachable). I heard there was a remake in the past few years - is that any good?
The original has held up well, the remake is unstable trash

Eh, I've been playing it for a while now and it seems fine. My only complaint was they had an opportunity to fix the diplomatic system from the original and not only didn't, it seems if anything worse. Other than that I haven't seen anything to complain about.
