D&D 5E GF9 Tomb of Annihilation DM Screen

Hi all,

Has anyone got the GF9 Tomb of Annihilation DM screen? It looks like it could be useful, but I can't find a big enough picture to see what all is on the DM side. It says it's got encounter tables and such, but that's obviously not all that it has.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,
Jonathan

I got in touch with GF9 via their Facebook page. The response I got was that they haven't got a bigger image, but the screen has "all the tables info on it for that module like the other module specific screens".

Somebody else on Facebook said they'd heard it was the best one yet.

They can't get a better picture of their own product? That's pathetic. I haven't yet bought a GF9 product but was interested in this because I'm so enamoured of ToA. I'm thinking I still won't be an owner of a GF9 product though after this lame response.

Looks like the Encounter Tables on the far left. So you can roll a random encounter w/o flipping.
Third panel looks like treasure? Uncertain.

Yeah, it is hard to see what that screen is actually offering. The benefits of the specialised screens are pretty debatable, as they lack all the generic rules knowledge.

Turns out the screen's designer lives here in New Zealand. He answered my query in the D&D NZ Facebook page:

The left side has the Port Nyanzaru encounters table, treasure cache table, and the massive chult random encounters table that covers all the different terrain types. The right side has a bunch of useful travel info from the module and DMG, things like the effects of extreme heat, travel pace, water/food needs by creature size, and how to determine if the party gets lost.
Sounds just about perfect!

geee you think that could have made into the marketing blurb.

Marketing isn't GF9's strong suit. In fact, they don't really seem to do any at all. Kinda like Wizkids ...

Neither is customer service IME. I really like the spellcards and some of their other stuff (don't want to calculate how much we spent on the Firefly game altogether) but I tried buying stuff "direct" from "their" store and it was a mistake.

How was it a mistake? I ask because I'm not sure I've got any other choice. I'll have to ask around the FLGSes to see if anyone of them are planning on stocking it.
