My 12 boxes GoL did arrive yesterday.

The first I saw when I opened the first box was the behir the one I wanted tho most.
I've also the Gold Dragon and the StomGiant and all the Uncommons huges.
Noe a army of huge monsters arer standing on my monitor


Is it just coincidence or systematic, I've all the commons (non huge) exactly 3 times
and I've also all the uncommon.

the qualitiy seams to be very differnt. Some commons are great painted
eg the zombie but redgar for example Redgar is imho junk because the
worse painting.

Got my case the other day. This is a very nice set, but does anybody else think that the Behir is more ferocious looking than the Huge Red Dragon? It seems like the wings take up too much of the dragon's bulk. I'm not saying it isn't well done, just that the Behir seems more massive.

(Of course, the red dragon is a young adult, so I guess there is room for growth when Wizards issues the "30 Pounds of Plastic" Set, with 1 Gargantuan mini in each box.)

Overall, I was very impressed by the Behir, Grick, and the creepy little Blues, mostly because I never thought much of them in print form. The Glabrezu was also pretty cool.

The only disappointments are Regdar's mini, which is pretty bad, and the Orc Brute, which is horrible.

I'm still missing the githyanki renegade, dire wolf, Mordenkainen, otyugh, manticore, rakshasa, drider sorcerer, frost giant, Lareth the beautiful, lich necromancer, minotaur, red wyrmling, huge gold dragon, storm giant, and the warforged titan. These are all rares, which is not surprising considering that a larger percentage of this set is made up of rares.

I was impressed that in my 1 case I received *all* of the commons and uncommons. Unfortunately, I still have many rares to acquire...

That's the same reaction I had to that mini - what is it a crucian, or somesuch? What the heck is that?!

He looks alright, but his shield looks like.....the.....shell......on his........back...... No wonder you only see one of them....

King Snurre is the final Big Bad from module G3, Hall of the Fire Giant King. He's the last big bad in the G Series.

Got my 4 boxes in (ordered a case with my friends, 4 for me, and 4 for each of them) and since I ordered them, I got first dibs on the boxes. Picked out my four and lo and behold, here is what I got:

Huges:
Huge Red Dragon (awesome)
Huge Gold Dragon (Awesome!)
Bulette (damn cool)
Cloud Giant (meh)

Regulars:
Drider Sorcerer (kinda sucks)
Blue Slaad (kinda poor paintjob)
Fire Giant (wicked cool)
Otyugh (not bad)

I can't wait to see what my friends got.

Cloud Giant... *Yawn*

Got another box. It had a cloud giant. Man, what a boring fig compared to some of the other ones. I was hoping for a treant or a bulette. I did, however get an otyugh, which is a kick-ass mini. I almost don't want to touch it, it looks so icky. Drow fighter... ho-hum. Sword of glory... feh. Only one rare in this box, and the uncommons are kind of lame. Whoever said that the Tanarukk is a POS paint job wasn't kidding. Egh.

Still trying for a dragon...

Yeah, the tanarukk sucks very hard. Very poor compared to the others.
Compared to the other rares and huges, the cloud giant is the most... boring I've seen. Feh, I foresee myself getting many cloud gaints in the near future...

For the most part, I'm very happy with the distribution and quality of these figures. I'm gonna have a tough time trading away those t-rexs, but I think I've already lined up some good trades for the excess rares. Anyway, I'm very happy with this set. It's Greyhawk friendly, and that's good, too.
