Adamant Entertainment is currently working on GLORIANA, an Elizabethan Dark-fantasy RPG, based on the D20 Modern SRD (or, "D20 early modern", as we've joking referred to it in our design discussions).

It will be released in 2005. For information, and news of developments, see the product's teaser page at the Adamant Entertainment website.

If you have any questions, or you're interested in being one of our playtest groups, post to our forums (links from the GLORIANA page).

Is this going to be compatible with d20 Past, or completely independant (Something like the Mongoose OGL books)?

This should be interesting, if only for the armor stats of the various Elizabethan collars...

Maybe could it be a good thing to adapt it to make it based on d20 Past rather than d20 Modern, when D20 Past is available in 2005?

It will be a stand-alone OGL game, not a D20 branded game, and as such doesn't really need to tie in with any of WotC's releases.

The rules system is based, in part, on the D20 Modern SRD, which, as I've been told, is also the case with D20 Past (which is described in the documents we've gotten from WotC as a "supplement" to D20 Modern).

GLORIANA will also be utilizing open content from SKULL & BONES, OGL HORROR, CONAN and a few other sources, as well as plenty of new material as well.

Hello Gareth,

let me say first this sounds quite interesting. How historically accurate do you intend it to be though? Is it going to be pure fantasy with a veneer of historicism, or will it be closer to what the teaser seems to show: a highly historical setting with fantasy elements tacked on (possibly even in such a way that you could run it perfectly well without any fantasy elements)?
