Gnomes in the MM!

I'm disappointed that WOTC would take gnomes away from the Player's Handbook to make room for tieflings as a PC race. That seems pretty silly.

As much as I dislike gnomes as a PC race, I endorse this statement.

You should write the gnome entry for the MM -- that's the best take on the gnome race I think I've ever read.

You know, "Ecology of the Gnome" would be a lot of fun to write. I may have to look up the Dragon guidelines.

Didn't they have one some time in the first year or so after 3e's release? They did articles about all the core races.

Ecology articles are not "one per creature" (although, lord knows, an article written about a 1E monster in 1985 is almost certainly going to be 100 percent relevant for 4E 23 years later). Isn't the current Death Knight piece the third to date?

I didn't miss it, I just don't agree with their removing the gnome from the PH and dumping them into the MM with only a passing reference to being a PC race.

That's awesome that you already know there's only a "passing reference" to them being a PC race in the Monster Manual! How did you get to see the gnome entry 8 months before the book even comes out?

I say this because, compared to a racial entry in the PH, anything in the MM would be a passing reference. Why remove them from the PH in the first place? What is so cool about the half-demons, excuse me, Tieflings, that they get a place in the PH at the expense of the gnomes? Why not take out one of the half-breed races like half-orc or half-elf instead?
