I saw 'Shaun of the Dead' last Saturday - if you like zombie horror and British comedy, you'll love Shaun of the Dead! :)
Simon Pegg ('Spaced') is brilliant, IMO. It's very British (specifically, north-Londonish) but for a UK horror film the sfex aren't bad - they spent the money where they needed to. I highly recommend it to everyone who likes zombies and/or idiosyncratic British comedy. :)

Saw it last night. I enjoyed it, but I don't think it was a good as some of the reviewers out there.

There were a couple of laugh-aloud moments for me, and I spent most of the film with a smile on my face, chuckling occasionally. However, I did feel there was something missing, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

As far as holing up somewhere safe goes - surely the flat (on the second or third floor) was safer than the pub? Going to the pub made no sense to me (other than the plentiful supply of alcohol should things go badly wrong!)

My girlfriend actually burst into tears when
Simon Pegg's mum died
, and snivelled quite a lot when they
left Ed behind
.

Ed, incidentally, was very funny. Reminded me strongly of an ex-flatmate.
