Reading through all these posts I started to wonder something. There have been several mentions of the psocodragon, which given it's placement in the previously posted tier list would belong in the to be added later meta-meta tier. So is that still the case or has it's tier changed? Just slightly confused on that.
Psocodragons are basically the "Bookworms" of the Akashic Library; which while physical is mostly metaphysical. Its the Border between the 9th and 10th dimensions. For context the 9th Dimension is where the Supreme Being (ie. the Dungeon Master) exists.
Another unrelated question that I have, how powerful would a weapon like deaths scythe (assuming your plans for it have some equivalent) be in the hands of a lower tier being?
Well that's a multi-faceted question:
Firstly there are multiple levels of "Death".
Multiple Death Gods exist in the Shadowfell and Astral Plane for instance.
Every higher dimension may have one or more figures that represents Death within that dimension for instance one might be Temporal Death, with a scythe that ends timelines, etc.
When we reach the 7th Dimension we get the personification of Death. For those who like their comics this is where Marvel's Lady Death or DC's Nekron would appear. These are the Personification of death within the "game world".
In the 10th-dimension is the Platonic Concept of Death.
In regards weapons, when I say a being is higher dimensional, even by +1 dimension such beings (and objects) become gradually harder to perceive.
For instance Zeus simply cannot perceive a 7D being unless such a being wishes them to.
When a mortal uses an artifact they are subject to rolling on the Minor/Major/ Prime Drawbacks (depending on the power of the artifact). Likewise, if an immortal uses a higher-dimensional artifact they might have to roll on the drawbacks table - the severity depends on the disparity in power.
I had the idea of a lower DR god stealing and using the weapon of a higher DR god.
Within the range of a few ranks thats certainly possible.
One adventure idea I had from back in the 4E days was "No Chance in Hell" which was No Cha (ie. Nezha - its pronounced No Cha). Which was that the Demigod Nezha stole the Black Spear of Set. No Cha cannot be magically tracked (even by Set) but Set was able to discern where the Spear had been and sent his forces to just wreck things; so the PCs had to step in and battle massive armies, demigods and all manner of things. It was a 12-Chapter Adventure (each section fairly brief) with I think the No Chance in Hell section being Chapter 5.
I think the overall module was to be called: "Against the Reptile God".
If I ever get the chance I'll dust off those ideas for God Rules.
All the previews you've posted look amazing.
Thanks, only the tip of the iceberg shown so far. But glad you like them.
Hope your future eye operations go well.
Eyesight is getting a bit scary. Still no date for the first one (but supposedly sometime in December). As of right now I can still see the screen to type with my left eye but not my right eye. The whole thing is taking so long (I contacted them at the start of May!) because they are paying for it.
Sadly the past few days progress has been halted due to an annoying flu and splitting headache. Just starting to turn the corner on that, but little sleep the past two nights as I wake up each hour soaked in sweat. Just a nuisance. Fingers crossed I'll be fine by tomorrow. Been back to working on the book today but still groggy.
