God Rules: Players Guide (5e)

As regards the pre-launch Kickstarter page, is there a way to set it to coming soon (or coming Summer 2025) rather that giving a specific date?
I have not done it myself, but I have seen coming soon kickstarter pre-launch pages that did not specify the date (EnWorld used to do that for their big projects). I do not know whether or not that is still possible.

I just checked the KS Setting up your project's pre-launch page and it doesn't say anything about making it a specific date. It says you are only required to have:
  • Your project’s title and subtitle
  • Your project's image
  • Your project’s category
  • Your project’s location
  • An editable pre-launch project description*
  • Your creator name** and profile avatar
The KS How to Craft a Pre-Launch Page has mostly the same info, nothing about requiring a date for launch there either. They both specifically mention you have to manual launch your Kickstarter - you can't predetermine the date of launch.

Cheers amigo. I was on earlier and it says the date is optional and can be changed. I currently have Tuesday 1st of July down (tentatively although fingers crossed should be okay). I will try and get the prelaunch page up over the next 3-4 days.

After this book I should have some rapid releases (a month or so).

GOD FORGED...basically the Artifact Crafting chapter of the book + 64* extra pages I couldn't fit in the main book.

GOD SPELL...The Epic Spells/Magic Chapter + 64* pages of material I couldn't fit in the main book (again).

I'll have a discount on both for anyone who buys the GOD RULES: Players Guide - since half the material is re-used. But (I thought) some people might just want the Crafting Rules & Artifacts or the Epic Spells System and Spells...and I have a bunch of excess stuff that got cut.

I won't spoil what's in the extra material...But when you find out what it is you'll want to get them. ;-)

*give or take a page.

Parece ótimo! Com certeza acompanharei assim que as páginas de pré-lançamento estiverem no ar.

Shame that such a wrench has been thrown into your plans.

I was looking forward to an extremely high quality, smith-sewn binding, glossy paged, book ribbon, lay flat version of the GOD RULES: Player's Guide...and that may be available in a subsequent Kickstarter (I have lots of books coming down the pipeline). But for now I'll settle for a Drivethru RPG Print-on-Demand version.

I just took the safe route for my first Kickstarter and we will see how that goes. I'd love to just get 1000 (top quality) copies printed and have them in a Fulfillment warehouse and people can order them from my website. But unless I know I'm going to sell at least 500 books fairly quickly (to recoup the Printing Cost) its too big a gamble, plus with the tariff situation even shipping back to the fulfillment centre in the US might be ridiculous since a lot of these Print companies print in China.

Still excited about the book and the miniature (even if i can only get an STL).

I appreciate the excitement. The physical miniature was always going to be a shipping (cost) nightmare as it looked like I had to post them all from Belfast.

Maybe I can partner with some miniature place in the US and that will make that side of the Kickstarter more viable. Anyone know any such companies? I could get some Printed myself and ship to the UK/EU, but I know 85% of my market is the USA & Canada, so not sure how many actual minis I would sell to the UK/EU.

Incidentally, I looked at Drivethru's Shipping Rates for the books and they are very reasonable in most countries. USA = $6 for Shipping (I think there is a more expensive option which I guess is 'tracked & signed' which is about $10 more). UK was $7 (about £5) and most of the EU was around $13-20...as was Canada. Mexico was $20. Australia $25 and Brazil a whopping $45.

Still not sure what to do for Stretch Goals (or even if I will have any).,,Any suggestions?

The quality of content has looked superb so far,

I have basically shown nothing so far (partly because things are still being worked on), but trust me when I say the art is EPIC and the rules are GODLY!

Legends & Lore (AD&D version) inspired me back in 1988 when I got it for my birthday, I hope my GOD RULES will go on to inspire players imaginations for years to come. :giggle:

and i will certainly be getting everything i can related to it.

I appreciate the love, basically five years and a ton of savings sunk into this and its only now about to get released.

...although I won't hold you to buying everything amigo, I have a bunch of related T-shirt designs coming soon (somewhere, still weighing my options and tweaking the details). The margins on these things seems minuscule (unless I go the Printify route which is a bit more work involved).

I did notice Drivethru RPG does card sets including mini-posters. So my Immortal Character Sheet idea might be back on the table for this Kickstarter. What I wanted was a new Character Sheet design (its really cool - I won't spoil it), but as well as selling the blank sheets, I was also going to have 6 filled in (Divine Rank 1) Hero-deity Character Sheets with 6 different immortal characters, one was Cu Chulainn, I won't spoil the other 5. This was so Games Masters could do immediate one-shots or play right out of the box book...even though character creation is super easy*, take a Level 20 character add 2 small/simple templates...that's it.

*barely an inconvenience you might say.

It's also time for David to create the new epic update monster version 2025... with more evil and cruel monsters and even more powerful reworks of those on the list... I use that material to this day.

Dave's work for the Community (especially as regards Epic Monsters) has been outstanding (and I would be remiss if I didn't mention Beefermatic & Obly in the same breath - cheers guys).

It would be really amazing

Dave I think is currently the only person to have seen my new Monster Stat-Block (although I made some tiny tweaks since then) I think you guys will definitely be in serious trouble if he ever does more powerful versions of my monsters! :p

I would love to do that, but life has just gotten in the way lately. I am also waiting for UK to finish this book as a am pretty sure it will be a good jumping off point my next stab at epic monsters.

I am trying to create a set of rules that can allow 5E to replicate ANY anime/comics/movies/novels/sci-fi/television/videogames or whatever. I know I am going to bend a few official rules along the way because that's the only way I think it can be done, but I believe the end result will be (I hope) be the best epic/immortal rules for anything ever...at least that's my aspiration.
