Come to think of it though, using Slavatore here again, that strict of a hierarchy strikes me as decidedly "lawful" though, dontch think? I am not saying the should not be CE (my whole point was good v evil, not catagories of evil).

Problem is that the "strict" structure... well... isn't. I mean, come on... assassination is a valid, accepted, encouraged, and applauded (Provided you succeed and no one can prove it) method of advancing in rank. That can't be lawful, no matter how you stack it. Wiping out an entire house, children, slaves, and all is a valid way of moving your entire house up in the system. That's not very strict and lawful either, to me. People that the people in power don't like for whatever reason become sacrifices, or turned into driders. It's an authority built on terror and force, not actualy loyalty or honor.

All I asked was why everyone wanted to play good Drow.

I never said ANYTHING about home-brewed settings either.

I use one that is heavily Norse-Mythos influenced and therefore adjusted as such.

I just pointed out that the published stuff followed suit with the early '90s Drizzt wannabe movement.

All I said was OK, so they're CE, but they are still evil, which makes self-preservation a high-priority which makes teaming up with lesser thans viable as long as it suits the Drow's purpose. I just did not think I had to type all that up again.

BTW, stay away from Cyberpunk boards if you think that statement was ill-intended...which by the way, it was not in any way shape or form.

I dont mean to make this sound inflamatory. However, your points are good, but your articulation, meaning the language you use to express them is inflamatory. Remember that people cannot hear your tone of voice here. Certain words have different tones when read. Look at what you write and then read it back to yourself before you submit. You may find that you are writing what you want to say in a way you do not intend to.
