good PRC's for Paladins?

What are some good prc's for paladins, which don't inhibit their martial ability?

Is there a prc which might let the paladin to summon fire on his weapon at will or something?

Thanks!
You could try Paladin/Monk/Argent Fist (Faiths of Eberron).

In my opinion, the best Paladin prestige class is Fist of Raziel from Book of Exalted Deeds. Bigger, better smites!

Only problem with that is that, technically, none of the classes in BoED say that Paladins can take levels of it and still be able to level as a Paladin, so, again, technically, once you take your first level of Fist of Raziel, you can't advance as a Paladin again. And Fist of Raziel doesn't improve their Lay on Hands ability at all.

Grey Guard progresses and improves both Smite Evil and Lay on Hands, and spellcasting! Only half casting, but oh well.

i always liked paladin substitution levels from champions of valor. if you want a flashy fiery aura, check the lion legionnare.

Well, Fist of Raziel is specifically intended for Paladins, so most DMs will probably let you continue as a Paladin. But, would you really want to? You're going to want all 10 levels of FoR.

And, it's free on the web, so you don't even need to get a copy of the book. See:

Paladins already have half casting, so half progression on that is 1/4 casting... thats just horrible ;/

I'll second both the Kensai and the Shadowbane Inquisitor.

The former can give you incredible combat ability, the latter gets you a lot of situational flexibility. Your choice- the "Maul" or the "Rapier!"

Another to consider is the 5 level PrCl Ordained Champion also has possibilities for paladins, though its slightly better suited to the Cleric. Its kind of a customized, tweeked Spellsword for worshipers of Hextor or Heironeous, giving spell-channelling ability & a few levels of spellcasting.

Depending upon your DM, one you could find fun is the Psionic PrCl, Pyrokineticist (also available in the other energy types at http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040625e). You need not even give up being single classed until then- the psionic prereq is as simple as having the Wild Talent Feat. In exchange for some levels, you can make your unarmed attacks (Lvl2), weapon (Lvl4), or even body (Lvl5) become sheathed in flame (or other energy type by particular class). You can also fire bolts of your energy type (Lvl3) and get an "energy-type" whip (Lvl1). The role/gameplay prereq of burning down a building has been expanded to give non-evil options. This option, however, does not expressly allow the return to leveling as a Paladin.

Of the PrCls listed in my post, only the Kineticist or the Kensai would allow some kind of at-will energy effect on your weapons.

That means waiting to take your PrC untill 10th level. Assuming you plan on going to at least 20. If the campaign goes epic... No epic paladinhood for joo! :(

You can take something else for the last few levels...and frankly I don't consider epic relevant to these kinds of threads. Is it even a 3.5 supported concept?
