Got Ghostwalk!

hellbender,

mind give me the Orcus highlights? ;)

Why, certainly, my fellow Orcus fan! There is a 3/4 page deity profile on page 85, detailing the worship of Orcus and delving a bit into the Old Boy's past. Orcus is the main god of the country of Xaphan (page 154-156), and his demonic servants, the Artaaglith (with a cool Puddnhead picture) are detailed on page 157 and half of 158.

I would like to run a Ghostwalk campaign with Orcus possibly declaring war on the Prime and attacking with legions of the undead, slowly taking over fringe areas.

Can you mention what, if any, divine rank it gives him? Also, what does it say about his past, exactly?

Al is trying to write the definitive guide to Orcus. Not that I think such a thing is possible but I wish him well. ;)

Okay I'm sold. I'm getting this damn book if I have to sell other people's kidneys! ;)

I would use the ice in the bathtub trick, everyone thinks it is an urban legend, what better method? The book is worth it, I keep reading more and it is making me like the setting more and more.

You're just jealous I thought of it first. :p

But yeah, its not all that difficult really; the main work is pulling together many many references and making them into one complete history. Beyond that, the only real difficulty is when facts contradict each other (*grumbles about how various books have Orcus as a god and others as "just" a demon lord*).

The original file I wrote is still uploaded over at the Necromancer Games website, but its desperately in need of a revision, for several reasons.

Orcus is listed as a lesser deity. There is not a huge amount on his past, just a few interesting tidbits. Basically, he wants you to worship him, he thinks it is a good idea for you to do so. It just may be.

If it helps, in Ghostwalk, Orcus is said to be a powerful demon who gave up power for mortal worship, thus becoming a rather nasty god. Good luck on the Orcus history, he is an interesting fellow.

He would. Any undead in there that worship him of their own voluntary choice? There should be, just for maximum sourcebook-conflict. ;)

Thanks for the info hellbender! :)

You are most welcome! On the island country of Xaphan, controlled by vampires, Orcus is the main god. It is listed as 95% undead. So yes, undead do willingly worship Orcus.

Buy the book! You won't be sorry.
