OOC: For you the Duke is a familiar name (anyone with ranks in knowledge plains or bardic knowledge will know this) The Duke is supposed to be a vile and evil person that likes to dabble in the afairs of the Prime now and then. It is said he has very powerful followers, but that is more Quality then Quantity. He does not see the point of huge armies and sends out small bands of his followers to do his bidding. He is not asociated with another major group on the prime, but merely seems content to take waht he wants. He has been around since the plane of shadow got acces to the prime and is thaught to be of Epic level.

Oh and: What does "desmesne" Mean?

IC: As I said, no passing beyond this point, or it will be in chains, under our authority and that of The Duke.

The Half-orc steps forward to address the captain. "We have other matters we need to deal with. This is the fastest way that we can travel to our destination. If you want to escort us , you may. If you wish to hinder us, you may try. Either way, it doesn't matter too much to me, I have a job to do and will not be hindered any longer." With that, Durgal will assume the worst is about to happen and ready himself.

Luna steps forward, "As my companions have said we are merely passing through these lands. We were unaware that we passed through the domain of such an austere and well known man as The Duke. Surely we can work something out." She smiles pleasantly trying to defuse the tense situation.

OOC: Just in case her ploy does not work she also readies to cast a spell...

"Okay, I will offer you the fastest way out of here, One of my men will teleport you all outside of the doman of the duke so you can presume your travel, we don't want any trouble ourselves, but you will get it if you do not agree on this, or leave the plane of shadows immedaitly."

Unless You're a Paladin, like.. say.. Sir Justin, who's entire reason for living is to destroy evil.
Ironically, it's my paladins code that is keeping me from attacking this guy, though. "A paladin's code requires that he respect legitimate authority and act with honour". And according to the way my friends are talking, these guys seem legit. If That ever changes of they do assault us, they will find my blade in their chests.

IC: It takes a great deal of his control for the Knight to leave his sword sheathed, his hand clenching and unclenching while his need to rid the multiverse of this scum battles with the strict code of honour he is forced to follow as a Knight of the High Road.
