Mr. Hood does a lot more for the people, and doesn't strike me as being as sketchy as Indiana Jones is at times. Plus, what kind of a loser uses a whip?

If it was Luke from the EU, then I'd vote him in without hesitation. But movie Luke just ain't that special.

Gandalf isn't really much of a hero. He is a Maia of the Valar, and his purpose is to help others perform heroic deeds, which occasionally forces to him to reluctantly perform them as well.
