I realize that this thread is very old but I just heard of greater masterwork and googled and found this thread. so greater masterwork would not stack with an addition of an enchantment of a +1 just like normal masterwork does not?Elder-Basilisk said:Greater Masterwork gives +1 to hit, +1 to damage, and +10 hardness to weapons for 600gp.
I assume it is this (first hit on googling for "Black Company Campaign Setting"): http://www.greenronin.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=grr1409realmaster said:what is Black Company CS?
do you have this book?If you want varied MW rules check out the Black Company CS ... there's different levels of MW so you can get some really nifty and rare items that are not magical, but still very cool.
very nice, thanks.TessarrianDM said:I have it. Essentially, the higher you beat the Craft skill check DC, the more "benefits" you can add to an item, up to a total of 6 (which requires beating the skill check by 25+, and takes 20 times longer to craft). You can even stack the same benefit up to three times on a really good skill check (beat the DC by 15+). Many of the benefits mimic magical enhancements to the item being crafted (such as Accurate, which grants a +1 quality bonus to attack rolls) while others are new (like Decorative, which grants a bonus to Diplomacy checks). These masterwork benefits take the place of magic items in this low-magic campaign setting.
