Green Ronin opts out of 4e

I think Green Ronin is arguably the second-best publisher of 3.0e and 3.5e material (behind only Paizo, in my opinion.) And they are currently my favorite game company. They announced they will not be supporting 4e except for a character folio.

Good news for my Mutants and Masterminds and True20 gaming, but bad news for 4th edition D&D, I would wager.

Good for them.

I have only a couple of Green Ronin books, so it wouldn't make a difference to me anyway. Outside of the Dragon and Dungeon magazines Paizo used to publish, I don't have anything from them, either.

How much support is 4E gaining from the gaming community in general? Is it being embraced, or rejected?

I don't have any feel for that, but I suspect GenCon will reveal which way the wind is blowing. I'm sure the books are selling well, but whether people are switching, or just buying them to check it out like you, Chris and I have done, I dunno.

I really only have heard of a few companies that are planning 4e products. And since none of them can sell any products until October, I guess all the 4e promoting will have to be done by Wizards until then.

IMHO everything Green Ronin and Paizo publish is top notch.

We might also want to seriously consider using the Pathfinder rules by Paizo (instead of 3.5E) sometime down the road. The Alpha PDF edition of it is still currently free to download.
