Green Ronin to produce a new Song of Ice and Fire RPG

Too bad, I like Green Ronin, but I already have a $100 perfectly acceptable Game of Thrones book. I'm not throwing more money out to get another one that's incompatible.

Woohoo! Some good news finally.

I'm not keen on finding my current GOO version unusable, but given what Green Ronin did with Thieves World and Black Company, I have high hopes.

I do hope that it's D20 or OGL, and not some new system. Not totally keen on it being T20 though.

Way back, when GOO going under was announced, I remember saying that Green Ronin or Fantasy Flight Games might be the best choices. Looks like someone was thinking along parallel lines :)

The GOO version is fine with me. I like it. Haven't been able to try it, but that's because my friends prefer hack & slash, and AGoT does not handle hack and slash very well. It's all about the political intrigue.

*chuckles*

Not only might Steve Jackson be jealous of Green Ronin for that announcement, but now they might be under his watchful eye, prepared to glare.

Seriously, though, good luck to Chris and crew, I'm sure you'll do the books justice.

QFT.

I really like the GOO version, but I haven't had a chance to play out the mechanics, because it is very much a political intrigue game, and some of my players like to feel super powerful and have lots of arcane things blasting out of every part of their body and items.

it's bad when the 1st ed of M&M stands heads and shoulders in the graphic department compared to the 2nd ed. (All my opinon of course.)
I consider the layout of 2E to be better then 1E though the artwork is not a good; and the Osseum Entertainment debacle was responsible for that. The artwork in the recent M&M books has generally been very good, IMO.

Same story here. I love the GOO version and think it's just about one of the best single volume campaign settings I've ever read. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to play it, either.

My players have the oddest ability to pick characters that go against whatever setting we decide to use. Last time it was a swashbuckler dread pirate in Greyhawk (who would have worked much better in Swashbuckling Adventures' Theah) and now I've got a player who wants to be a power-behind-the-throne master of intrigue in...the Wilderlands of all places! All I keep thinking is how much better his character would fit in Westeros.

aGoT PBEM

I noticed that three people, like me, have this game and have never played it. What if we did PBEM, I have never done that and don't really want to DM. But I would like to play this game. If you are interested maybe (and have maybe have DMed PBEM) we could move this to the gamers classified section. I can't do PM on this board.
