Green slime rules are clear for wood, metal and stone... but...

Given longstanding precedent and the fact that leather is basically animal-stuff and cloth is basically plant-stuff, I've always just ruled that the green slime dissolves the crap out of it.

As a side note, a pc in my game way back in 2e started packaging green slime in glass globes as grenade-like missiles.

Yup, green slime bombs are *VERY* nasty.

I wrote an ecology of green slime (alas rejected by dragon) in that I explain it's eating habits. Agree that it doesn't affect stone , rock, glass or crystal. I further explain how it travels. After a particularly large meal or extreme length of undisturbed growth it basically explodes spreading itself to other areas of food source. Some of it becomes almost spore like, dry particles that float any distance until coming upon the perfect growing location, wherein it starts a new colony not being dangerous for several months while it grows.
