Greylock (as he is known on these boards) is in the hospital right now getting his hip replaced. He is a member of my gaming group, a loyal ENWorlder and a HiveMinder.

My father-in-law went through some spinal-disc-replacement surgery two years ago, and while he is still plagued with pain, he's a new man as far as mobility is concerned. It was rather highly successful in his case, and we're all thankful. I certainly hope his is as effective as it was for my father-in-law.

My ex-step-father-in-law had hip replacement a couple of years ago and it worked out great. he has always been an active guy and it's great to see him back outdoors regularly again. I hope Greylock has the same success as he did.

The wife and I both went by the hospital today. His surgery took 4 hours! twice as long as suspected and predicted.

He is witty and already tired of his family despite the morphine.

Long recovery ahead, but he is coming back already.
