Half-Elves cross class power

The thing is that it's not an extra power. It replaces one of your normal class encounter powers.

That's not true. It's extra. A first level character only GETS two at-wills, one encounter and one daily.

Or... the half-elf doesn't get a full fledged extra at-will like the human, and instead just gets one use of an at-will per encounter.

Just like the character shows. At-will Ray of Frost power, usable as an encounter power.

Seems very 'half-human' to me. Matches the character, flavor text, and works fine.

@keterys: half-human??? Bet you still call them demi humans ;)

reality is that a full fledged at will is more likely. I know that some have alluded to the fact that other races get encounter abilities like elven accuracy. I would however state that those abilities are balanced as encounter abilities and not underpowered as the half elf's would be if the current seeming consensus is kept. At will powers are simply not balanced as Encounter powers.

A half-elf with an At-Will ability to be used as an Encounter ability would be fine ... provided they received something else as well. If that's it, if that's the extent of their bonus, then it would be pretty lame by comparison. Add in a few features similar to the Elven abilities, though, and I can see it working.

Even then I would say that it is wasted design space as the power becomes underpowered by becoming a per encounter. Also from the sheet it would seem that there are not too many other bonuses that the halfelf gets.

It makes sense to me. The human gets to pick an extra at-will power from his class list. The half-elf gets to pick an extra at-will power from ANY class list, but it becomes an encounter power (as trade off for the broader options.)

It's possible it's only from within other powers from the same power source, but that's still pretty good. Half-elves become more like their old "super multiclassing" selves from 1e, since as you may recall, they were the race that had the most extensive multiclassing options.

Cheers,
Cam

After looking at all the characters used at DDXP I was curious if first level characters get 2 at will, 1 encounter and 1 daily why does the paladin have 4 at wills, 4 encounters and a daily?

I noticed that the extra ones say Paladin Feature as opposed to an attack. Does that have anything to do with it?
