Question

First Post
Is it just me or am i the only one who thinks half-elves are so underpowered that no one ever plays them unless required to?

Before the people who want to look like cool rpers come in and say "I play them because I like the challenge of being underpowered, and yadda yadda" the fact is, half elves blow. They are pure terrible.

Half-elves get played when someone's trying to absolutely max out their Diplomacy score.

... or for concept.

That's about it :)

I don't think Half-Elves are underpowered, but I don't see half-races being played a lot in general.

You don't choose to play a half-elf... it chooses you! At least that is what happened in our game with the human paladin and Reincarnation :)

What about Half-lings? ;)
:p

They don't get played as often as Humans, Dwarves, and Elves, certainly, but more than Half-races.

So do you have a Ling class (oriental?) you can show me? ;)

No pictures, extremely rare ;)

Similar to merefolk (half man, half fish), only smaller (Ling being a long slender food fish from the northern coastal waters of Australia).

I'd agree with that. The poor half races, they suffer so much. Society persecutes them, the rules persecute them. Its tragic, really. They have to watch those damn dwarves strutting around like they own the place, with thier +2 Constitution and +2 on saves vs. spells.
