Well, what's your answer? Any why? Or you can sit on the Fence, your choice. :p

Me, personally, I loved it as a kid, but now I can't stand it. Maybe I'mjust too jaded by all the commercialism. (Heck, sometimes I can't stand Christmas, either, for that exact same reason.)

It's pretty fun. Not really my favorite holiday or anything... it's fun doing counter-ops on would be highschool/college kids who are running amuck in the neighborhood and scare the wiz outta them.

Oddly, I guess, Halloween is my wife and I's favorite holiday.

Her folks were a bit odd, so they never really did anything for Halloween. I've always really loved the gothic pageantry of Halloween ... she's a little glam-goth underneath herself, so we get a kick out of it.

We actually leave some of our halloween decor up year round, like our dead tree sculpture and bat candy dishes.

And to think, I'm otherwise completely normal.

I don't do anything for Halloween except buy some candy on the off chance a trick-or-treater shows up at my apartment (I've had one in four years; none so far tonight), but I can't really say that I hate it; I just think it's more fun for kids.

We gave up decorating much for Christmas, as it brings too much commercialism to the holiday. We now just observe our familial and cultural traditions. However, with Halloween we usually go all out. We just got finished taking everything down actually. We put it all up this afternoon (as we do on 10/31 every year... though this year some things stayed in the box - with the tragedy of this past weekend, we just didn't feel as festive for this holiday this year) and have it all down already. At any rate, it is another tradition from our respective childhoods that we choose to observe and enjoy.

Tomorrow is All Saint's Day, but that is another (non-Enworld) topic.
