What a surprise, for I didn't know that this thread was up until MerricB pointed me to it in an email! (Sorry, but I actually was smitten by the creative bug shortly after the 27th of July so instead of loafing I have had my nose in a new project, so I haven't followed much on the boards...) Thanks to all for the many kind words and good wishes. I am touched. Would that all of you could have come by here and shared in the ancient Armagnac--although it would have been only a half-dram per head
I would like to respond to each of you who were so thoughtdul, but there are so many posts I can't manage. Just a couple of fast comments are all I can manage.
Dessert for the birthday dinner was a lemon tort and a key lime pie, as I am not much of a cake person. I had the lemon tort.
Heh, Mario, Alex remembers with great fondness his trip to ModCon there in Italy, and really thought you were a cool guy. As i have told many people, Alex said to me: "The food here is wonderful, the girls are beautiful, and all the gamers are nice guys. We can move to Italy whenever you like!"
