I've never been at risk of having anything repossessed. Technically, I still haven't. This is just the first time it could have impacted me personally. I'm going to make sure it doesn't happen again.
My maternal aunt’s first ex was a real piece of work and an idiot besides. Decades ago, he thought he could get possession of the family home merely by driving her out. When THAT didn’t work- the house was already paid for before they married- he secretly stopped paying taxes on it and other stuff.

That house almost got sold for back taxes at a city auction. Fortunately, our family in NOLA is big and someone noticed the legal notice and we were able to pay that bill, preventing the sale.

Being a piece of 💩 and an idiot often go hand and hand. I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to claim squatter's rights. Being a Sovereign Citizen is the go to for some. You said decades, so that might not have been a thing. Thankfully it was caught and taken care of. So few people get the newspaper today, that might not have been seen now.

Grr... graphpaper.com isn't quite good enough for what I want to do with it, but GIMP is making everything ridiculously difficult. Clearly, I need to watch some GIMP tutorials before I try to use it.
(Y'know, CorelDraw has such a nice, easy-to-use interface...It sucks that I lost it when my puter crashed.)

<sigh>

I suppose I should go out and do something about the snow in the driveway. Well, something besides ignore it and continue farting around on teh interwebs.

Four of the five hosts of The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe live in Connecticut. They were talking about how warm it was there last week. One commented that the ground is normally frozen but it wasn't. Funny how the weather can change. If the forecast stays the same, this time next week will be 20-30 degrees cooler than it is now. I have a fan blowing on me. I put up the heater. 😆

A weeks long revival event in Kentucky wasn't a super spreader event for faith. It was a super spreader event for measles. MEASLES! Don't we have a vaccine for that? smh 😷

Yep. The MMR. Which means those afflicted attendees- and those in their circle- are likely at higher risk of contracting mumps and rubella. A lot more of the anti vaxxers are becoming more opposed to ANY vaccines.🙁

On top of that, the same people who pushed ivermectin as a remedy for COVID are now advocating its use for RSV and the flu, inclu calls to avoid using Tamiflu or getting flu shots.
