Happy Haggert Hurried Hungry Hitch Hiking Hired Henchmen Hivers.... apply within

Feh.

Another day of Not-Getting-Stuff-Done.

Had to make a run to the dump today because the old man didn't want to go Sunday. Coming back from the dump, we got about 500 feet from my house and the truck died. Radiator overheated and there was almost no oil left in the truck (and what was left was basically tar)...
Had to go down to Wallyworld and get more oil, and hopefully it was just the engine overheating and not the water pump crapping out.
That truck is a 2001 Dodge, and it's got close to 200,000 miles on it. The thing is still running mostly out of habit, and we only use it to go to the dump.

On the upside, yesterday I got the Ral Partha10-515 Ravenloft: Castle Forlorn box set I bought on EvilBuy. The listing said it was nearly complete except for one figure, which I already had.
On the downside, the listing lied, and the missing figure was one that I didn't already have (and both copies of the figure currently on EvilBuy are missing the figure's weapon.)
On the upside, my copies of Xanathar's and Tasha's came in the mail today.

Eh, tomorrow is a different day. At least tomorrow is pay day.

Today, I drove Mom around the neighborhood, looking like criminals. We were driving slowly and occasionally stopping because we were photographing people’s houses.

Why?

The reason is that my folks need to replace their 25 year old wooden fence, and would like to upgrade it to a wrought iron one. BUUUUUUUT our HOA has told us that we can only have wooden fences in our section of the neighborhood.

However, we already knew for a fact that there’s several houses with metal fencing, some on our very street. Today we took pictures of them. Lots and lots of pictures.

So like the instructions in Roadhouse, we’re going to be nice until it’s time to NOT be nice. We’re going to mention the fact of the existence of such facts- without sending the pix- in hopes that they’re merely unaware, not because they’re being power-drunk jerks.

Because my folks would also like to add solar panels to our house, and I’d rather not start THAT application process with them already predisposed to deny us.

We’ve been having short blackouts & power-flickering events for the past few days. And today, we woke to a boil water notice because a fallen power line knocked out the city water treatment plant.

Did I mention that we’re hosting a friend who is recovering from knee-replacement surgery for a while ?

Fun, fun, fun!

I just lost a tooth couple days ago - the left front upper incisor was a crown, and it had already fallen out at least three times before... But this time the post came with it (the area the post had been set in has been cracked for years, making it a bad candidate for an implant...)
So I called up my old dentist I haven't been to in about four years to make an appointment, and rediscovered the $623 outstanding balance I still have on my account that I'd completely forgotten about, which needs to be paid off before I can schedule an appointment...

Thus, three hours of OT at work so far this week, and quite possibly doubling that by the end of the week.

I are dumb. Why do I play video games?

Just had an update to Star Wars: The Old Republic, and now the launcher crashes every time I hit Play...
Reinstalling it now, halfway done (I should have been in bed a freakin' hour ago...), have to see if it works when I get home.
Grarhhh...

Okay, SW:TOR working, five hours of OT racked up so far, and potentially up to four more tomorrow if I don't die trying, lol...

Also, Monday July 3rd is an unpaid day off for us - had to use one of our floating holidays to cover it, but still, 4-day long weekend, yay-hoo!
