At least she didn't try to make a gift of the visiting dog. My mom said our cat brought a dead chipmunk in with her today. I hope it was dead. My mom tossed it back in the yard. The neighbor's chickens are almost as big as she is. So far she hasn't gone after them. That's gonna be a messy fight if it ever happens.

Both dogs were on leads the entire time. If things had gone well, we’d have gone inside the house. And at some point, at least one dog if not both would probably have been literally unleashed.

But our grrrl was pretty clear about how she felt.

Oh yeah, and she was completely unrepentant later.

Shower-thought idea for a new campaign: the PCs all play young treant officers, with episodic adventures of them policing the criminal elements of the forest.

We'll call it, Copse.

Bad boughs

Whatcha gonna do?
Whatcha gonna do
When they come prune you?

“Did you shoot that guy?”

“Which one?”

points “The one on the ground, writhing in pain.”

“Him? Nah. I kicked him in the nuts.”

“That’s totally bush league.”

Speaking of police. I attract an unusually high number of cops while doing my job. I know this because I've talked to others who have been at it far longer than I and they don't seem to have nearly as many random encounters. Just a couple of days ago was my most recent. I passed a cop on a road. After he passed me he flashed his blue lights. I kept going. He must of turned around and tracked me down. As I was backing out of a customers drive way I saw him coming up the road. I waited for him to pass, of course he didn't, he just sat there. I backed out and he moved forward and blocked me. He turned on his blues and his spotlight and shined it in my eyes. I lowered the sun visor and threw my arms up in a questioning manner. "What, what?" as he approached I repeated myself.
Him: You were stopped on the road back there. You're driving on dead end roads. Bad things happen at night."

This sounded almost like a threat. But I know he was talking about crimes happening at night.
Me: I'm delivering papers.
Lifting up a newspaper beside me.
Him: I didn't see any newspapers. You'll be free to go.

I hate that cops have this power over citizens. I wasn't doing anything wrong. He shouldn't be able to stop me like that.
I've looked into this. Crime DOES NOT INCREASE at night. Crime happens at all hours of the day AND night.

A few weeks ago I had cop track me down thanks to their big brother like surveillance system miles away and nearly an hour after passing him in neighborhood. The cop was waiting outside an apartment building after I left it. I pulled beside him and said. "What's up?" He radioed his partner saying he had me. He got out of his car and asked me to shut off mine. He asked why I was in the neighborhood he had seen me in earlier and why I left in a hurry. I said I'm delivering newspapers and want to get done as fast as possible but I wasn't exceeding the speed limit.
This one after checking my ID told me I was free to go. Again I hadn't done anything wrong.

Too much power.

Here is a recent article about strokes and beverages.

The article says sodas sweetened with artificial sweeteners increase your chance of stroke by 22%. This is something I've learned. If you have a 5% chance of stroke this means your chance could increase to 5.1%. That's not a lot. The article goes on to say they don't know why these increases are likely. It's speculation that sugar, and sweetener contributes to obesity, diabetes, and inflammation. You can find studies that refute those findings. Also, this is based on collecting data from other studies. Are those observational, innerdictive, or more collated data studies? I will admit, this is my reaction to the article itself. I haven't read the studies. But going by what I read you can lower the risk by drinking tea or water. So have some tea or water in addition to your coffee, soda, and fruit juice. It all balances our in the end. Stop stressing and just enjoy your food.

Late Night with the Devil is on Hulu. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it yet. It was worth the wait for me. Holy cow.

I'm starting to think I need to start a Miniatures Anonymous group. I don't think I can count how many I have, and I'm still finding more I want to buy. I found some Star Wars ship miniatures I had misplaced years ago. That was exciting.

I have more than I can count, including a plastic tub at least 4’ long full of unopened blisters & boxes of metal ones. Plus I have a 6’ tall stack of Sterlite stacking drawers full of plastic ones, too.

(I think I’ve painted a dozen in my life.)

I stopped cold turkey on those several years ago, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t feel the occasional urge to purchase something cool.
