Supposed to be 94 degrees tomorrow, and 97 on Tuesday. Fortunately, at least, the humidity isn't supposed to get particularly high. Work on Tuesday is still gonna suck large spherical Alces Alces parts, though.

We'll have temps like that plus the humidity. I work at night so I'll miss the worst of the heat, but with the humidity it'll still be stifling. Even at night I try to make sure I have water.

I work in a clean room environment making high-pressure medical tubing. Even though it's temperature controlled in the production area, the plastics extrusion process in general generates a crap-ton of humidity, and in our case the extruded tubes run through a water bath to cool them down as well. Add in the fact that I'm wrapped like a sausage in a plastic gown with gloves, hair and beard nets, and booties, and I end up sweating like hell some nights.

I've seen a video of a woman who after wearing a latex body suit and boots pour sweat out of one said boots. I hope that's not you at the end of a shift.

Latest update: Temp today where I live hit 93 (w 60% humidity) and they're now saying 100 for tomorrow... temps in the town I work in are 85 (w 76% humidity) today and tomorrow is going to hit 92... Ten degrees cooler and the town's only 25 miles away. Probably won't cancel work tomorrow, so I'll have to sleep through the hottest part of the day and then go into work. Yay, me.

I’ve said it before; I’ll say it again: I’ve always preferred colder temps to hotter, and having nearly died by both hypothermia and hyperthermia hasn’t changed my preference any.

I'm a colder weather person. I often talk about moving north. Vermont would be awesome. Bernie! Bernie! But people say I'll change my mind after my first winter of shoveling snow. As the planet heats up that will become less of an issue. Maybe I should beat the mob and move to The Yukon. Oh, Canada!
