If I have to quarantine for 2 weeks I'm screwed. I'm an independent contractor, the newspaper will not pay us if we don't work. Lucky for me my contact with others is minimal. I live alone and work alone. My mom is the only one I have close contact with. I come in contact with things touched by others but not on a constant basis. The newspapers themselves are the main things I touch others have touched. Hopefully it'll be okay.

I know a lot about stocking up on game stuff to do while at home for long periods of time. Last spring I converted Torg to 3.5 and this year I am placing all of my homemade maps into the computer.

I am considering a "self- quarantine" aka "self-exile". I am not over 65 but I am diabetic and worse- a diabetic with an existing infection. I am high on the list of people that can get it.

Oh well...… still got the Hive

wow..... just got an e-mail from my bank. Its all about what they are doing to protect employees and customers. They may limit banking.

This is getting out of hand. I do some-what feel like we're living in King's Novel 'The Stand'.

I do some-what feel like we're living in King's Novel 'The Stand'.

In "The Stand" someone maliciously broke the contingencies designed to protect against the disease. In COVID-19, people stood by watching and refused to implement any contingencies for the disease. Reality is less "good vs evil" and more "stupid".

Luckily, COVID 19 tends to kill a lot less people. So we've got that going for us, which is nice.

It's a little unsettling, isn't it? Other countries are taking it very seriously, closing borders and aggressively testing and quarantining...but here in the U.S., our leaders are all like "meh, it's just a seasonal flu, whatever, get back to work already."

Or at least that's how it feels anyway. Maybe I'm overreacting, maybe not, but we are lagging so far behind other countries on testing, we really don't know. It wouldn't surprise me if it's already too late to "flatten the curve."

But in other countries they're not testing they're "taking samples" so sayth the great and wise angry orange baby.

I'm more worried about my mom. She works at Walmart and is exposed to lots of people. But, I suspect if an elderly person were to get it and survive it'll be my mom. Those she exposes it to, on the other hand I'm not so sure about.

Cumulus radio has shut down their studios. The Bert Show broadcasted from their homes this morning. The other stations will broadcast from home next week. My morning show favorite Bailey and Southside did a best of show this morning.

Visiting nurse came by today. While both of us were using hand cream I told her about my self-exile plan. She agreed as a diabetic with an infection I should minimalize contact with people.

Sigh..... running out of things to do and watch
