Oh, and Clark -- what level did you say Tegel Manor will be set for?

Mid to higher level. I cant tell you more at this time because I dont know how the 1st to 30th level thing works in 4E. This is a prime example of why I need the rules :)

It will NOT be 1st level play. In fact, I expect Tegel to be a GREAT way for people to jump into level 8+ play right away with 4E.

Its a July release too. Oh, and did I mention FULL COLOR.

Please understand when I discuss this stuff I am discussing my thoughts and feelings. I dont want anyone to think I am criticizing WotC--I'm not.

That goes for me as well. I totally understand those guys are swamped beyond all reckoning. I know they aren't purposefully trying to keep the SRD from the publishers. I just feel for the bigger companies that have a big following and a release schedule through Alliance to maintain. While I know Wizards isn't putting the big guys in that position on purpose, I empathize and realize that it's probably not a fun position to be in.

The Last thing WOTC wants is for the following to happen.

Third party developer #1: Hey, where is the 4th edition SRD? I want to develop awesome products for 4th edition!
Third party developer #2: There is no 4th edition SRD yet! WOTC didn't send us one yet! We arn't gonna get an SRD until June!
Third party developer #1: But what will be do until then?
Third party developer #2: Let's develop more 3.5 products! You can never have enough 3.5 products!
Third party developer #1: Capital idea! Let us develop more 3.5 products instead of 4th edition products!

Many months later....

Consumer #1: Hey 4th edition is out! Let us buy a bunch of 4th edition books!
Consumer #2: What's the point of buying it now? There is just the core books.
Consumer #1: You are right! There is no support for it! Where are the adventures and various other products? I want more then just the three core books. I guess I'll just wait until more products come out.
Consumer #2: But what will we buy in the mean time?
Consumer #1: Let's buy more 3.5 products! You can never have enough 3.5 products!
Consumer #2: Capital idea! Let us buy more 3.5 products instead of 4th edition products!

And yet people aren't doing this in enough numbers now to make it worth Green Ronin's time to release the Advanced Races or Classes as hardcovers.... guess I'm just cynical and don't see that happening.

(Now if you had said Runequest, Conan, True 20, Mutants & Masterminds or other OGL products that don't rely on 3.5...)

Your wish is my command!!!

Tome of Horrors 4th Edition is set for July release.
Any idea of what monsters will be in the 4E ToH1, Clark? Will it be a straight upgrade of the 3E ToH1, or is the line-up going to be new this time around? (Perversely, I really want the black squirrels from the 1E MM2 to be in the book. The older I get, the more I like them.)

I don't see how he can answer that until he knows what's in the 4e MM ....

I don't see how he can say it's coming out in July when he doesn't even know when he'll get the rules or whether WotC will allow 3rd party stuff in the summer.
