I've got to agree with Henry on this one. I've had many PCs just fade away with disuse, but I've never had one die of old age (natural or not).

Presumably, yes. Most of the campaigns I have played in have not ended in a TPK, and as there were no further adventures in that particular campaign world (or that part of the world), it could be assumed that they had no further adventures and did die of old age. I would guess that such characters would count as retired.

I suppose it's the Schrodinger's Cat of gaming; the only PCs whose deaths I am sure of are the ones I was playing (or playing with) when it happened.

Boy, you guys must have had some serious leaps forward in game time.

In Pendragon you play one adventure (or possibly a series of adventures) and maybe even a major battle in a year, then you make your wintering rolls. Your horse/wife/father/child dies (something like that seems to happen every winter) them you start again, a year older. It’s possible to get through several years very quickly.

Yes. One of the main PCs in my campaign world started some time around 1984. I only started keeping track of time in my campaign world a few years after that. One day, based on the total span of fantasy-years that my campaign has run, plus an estimate for the prior years, I decided that it was time for him to decide between lichdom and dignified passing away. He went into the dungeons of his castle and so far has not made a decision. There are a few other PCs that are definitely getting the senior discount at the local armorers.
