OOC: Where to next? Seat mentioned going to the lab, I think. Are you going to split the group up? For reference, it is now around 9 PM, and has been dark for a little more than an hour.

Tali would suggest going to the lab, then calling it a night and meeting again in the morning. If we don't have a hot trail to follow, chasing around in the dark and knocking on the doors of complete strangers late at night doesn't seem like the best idea.

ooc: I agree with that

At mention of visiting the lab, Reeger nods. "Well then, come with me." He leads the way out of his office, which he locks once everyone is outside. You all notice that once the door is closed and Reeger is standing in front of it, the glowing lettering rises off of the wall plaque and the chime sounds faintly inside the office. Then Reeger makes his way down the darkened hallway, now empty of people, the tapping of his cane echoing faintly. He leads the way up three flights of stairs, and then down another section of corridor. Dim glowing orbs of light spaced every 40 feet cast numerous shadows down the hall. Reeger stops outside a door, and you hear a chime sound from inside. The lettering from a plaque on the wall glows and lifts out from the wall, reading:

Research Laboratory #5

Reeger fumbles with his keys for a moment before finding the correct one and opening the door. He ushers you all inside and closes the door behind you. The 30' by 15' room is lit by several torches that burn with an obviously magical, white flame. There are two 10' tables running end to end down the center of the room, covered in glass beakers, tubing, papers and various laboratory implements. You stand at one of the short ends of the room, and the far end of the room has a darkened window centered in the wall and flanked by a pair of tall bookshelves. There are four simple wooden chairs tucked under the tables, and a row of wooden pegs to the left of the door holds a heavy fur coat, in a similar style to the coat Reeger is wearing. One of the chairs has a faded yellow cloak draped on it. The table closest to you has a large spot on the end cleared off, with a small wooden stand that looks like it would hold a book.

Reeger tucks his keys into his pocket and says, "That empty spot on the end of the table is where we kept the codex."

[sblock=Shoot]Fang recognizes Loris' scent from the cloak. Did you want him to make a particular noise, or exhibit a particular behavior when he smells Loris' scent?[/sblock]

Anvuss will begin to search the area, taking 20 (27 total.) He'll try to work in sync with Raven, obtaining a +2 aid another bonus if possible.

"To be sincere, Reeger" says Seat "We don´t know at all what we´re looking for. Hopefully we can find something that helps discarding some theories and strenghten others, that´s why we have to search so thoroughly. Seems that Anvuss here is going to comb the lab, which will take him some time. I hope that it won´t cause any problem"

"I´ll however go for the obvious and retire to rest. Did Loris keep some of his work here?"
finishes the dwarf, while examining the cloak.

Raven helps Anvuss search. She also asks Reeger once the door is closed, "Tell me, sir. Did Loris have a key to your office and to this lab? How many others have such keys? I assume there was no sign of tampering with the locks."

Raven will examine the locks for tampering once she's finished her search with Anvuss.

"No, no problem. By all means, do what you must."

Someone said:

"Yes he did, but that went missing along with the codex. I've got a few translated passages I was working with on a scroll locked up in my office desk, but all of the ciphers that Loris was working on are gone."

[sblock=Anvuss]Examining the room shows that there was no sign of forced entry, and no signs of a struggle. When Seat turns over the cloak, you hear a slight clink of metal and notice an odd bulge on one side of it. Further examination shows a hidden pocket containing five gold pieces and a piece of parchment with the words:

Side entrance of Wicker Street Bakery.
Come alone.
Please,

Shortly after that discovery, you hear muffled footsteps in the hall.[/sblock]
