Healer PrCs?

And I don't think you can add too much of a twist on "Healer". Beyond the feat list I gave you, there isn't too much you can do - certainly nothing much that would justify a PrC for it. YMMV, of course
YMMV is a good way to sum up this thread. :) I guess I'm just suprised that we have a bunch of wacky PrCs from the BoED, but near zero when it comes to healing types.

Well, I haven't seen too many diviner PrC's.
The divine oracle in CD springs to mind. I'd be surprised if there wasn't an Arcane version. Fortune tellers are certainly a wizard schtick that appears PrC-able.

It's also that healing isn't really a combat thing (or rather you can't use it to kill foes with)
Yeah, but combat isn't the end-all-be-all for why PrCs exist. Unless people are playing the Contemplative PrC much more differently than I was picturing it. ;)

Healers can only get better in that they can heal even better...
I think the Chiurgeon PrC and the Jester's Healer PrC writeup handles variations in Healing quite nicely. Expanding and blending what one can do with the heal skill and spells is one example. A healer that suffers stigmata-esque wounds (ie, lose hp so others restore hp) sounds like another one that sounds feasible. I have no doubts that there are more ways to skin that cat and make the PrC interesting and useful. Again, YMMV.

Can you use FR material? Other material?
Yep. Heck, the Chiurgeon is a PrC from Mongoose's big book of PrCs. I don't own any FR books. Anything good in them?

Update:
In the Miniatures Handbook, there is a class called Healer. Think of a cleric without all the combat prowess (only light armor and an oath not to wear metal armor, no attack spells at all, only healing and curing) but really good at healing (several cleansing type spells that remove conditions - mainly those used in the minis game - as spell-likes, including true res 1/week, no AoO for healing spells, gets mass heal as 8th and gets their Cha bonus on healing.) Also gets a celestial companion - a unicorn.

This seems to be just the thing you want (you can use most of the feats above to augment this character - but he has no turning and therefore can't use divine feats - and you can use the sudden metamagic feats from the minis handbook)
