Help! Classic module questions

Something else that would help me is any info you have as to the general idea of the adventure. It just makes it easier to find out if it fits with the setting. Keep the ideas and info coming! It's great stuff!

PS: What about the original Temple of Elemental Evil? What levels etc?

Another good module series for hte level range your looking at is X4-5, if you're willing to run Expert D&D modules.

Though very good modules, they make take some work to integrate into a campaign, however. The party must make a long journey to and through a far off enemy empire (which is cut off from the rest of the world by an nearly impassible mountain range).

Keep on the Borderlands is a lot overrated due to it being many folks' first module, IMO, and so I feel a responsibility to warn against it in order to keep some perspective...

Things it has going for it:
1) Cool font and layout. Cool bolding of keywords.
What is the font used in the old modules? I'm dying to write up some of mine for my own amusement and I want to make them look as "classic" as humanly possible.

Anyone have a good idea?

I really, really want to set my group up for playing Return to White Plume Mountain (a 2e module by Bruce Cordell.) I'd convert it to 3e and get them up to the main doors, then flash back in time 20 years to their parents. I'd switch to 1e rules, hand the group new character sheets for their parents, and have them go through the original module -- and which point I'd flash forward again and contine with the Return module as planned.

Maybe some day.

if you are converting them from their original form to 2000ed...

may i suggest the U series. U1 will be a cakewalk for 4-8th lvl characters

but U2 Danger at Dunwater will start to get tougher

and U3 Final Enemy should be just about right with the conversion.

I didn't play U2-U3, but I remember U1, Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh, was a lot of fun. It wouldn't be difficult at all to up the challenge a bit to make it suitable for the levels you're looking for.

For more info about Ravenloft and some of these other "conversions" look in the conversion forum and the conversion downloads area.
