derbacher said:The Origins site says they are working through the purchases from January, but there is no indication of how far they are, when this was posted, or what the timeline is. I'm afraid that game registration will open and I won't have my info to be able to sign up for events when it goes live (which is supposed to be this week!).
I'm probably just paranoid, and everything will work out fine.![]()
derbacher said:Sorry, long day at work. I guess my big question (and I don't know if anyone can answer here or not) is how long does it take to get badge info to sign up for games? The registration is not set up yet (lucky for me!) but it seems to say that it will take some time before your info is emailed, and I would hate to pay the money only to be shut out of the opportunity to play!![]()
Has anyone got a timeline of about how long it took your badge purchase to be processed?
Prety much East Ohio, just north of I70, about 15 miles from the West Virginia border. The closest local gaming stores are Pittsburgh (1:45), then Cleveland (2:15), then Columbus (3:00). Not easily reachable.Ghostwind
Derbacher, if you're 3 hrs from Columbus, are you in Northeastern or Northwestern Ohio?
I check at least 3 or more times a day. (YES, I'm paranoid.)IronWolf
I wouldn't worry too much. Keep checking the Origins site and check their forums (or even ask there). Just as a note, I ordered my badge in January and have not received information on event regisration yet.
One of my rules for all trips is "Don't buy stuff until the last day." That way I know how much cash I have.Greatwyrm
I'll give you the same advice I give all first-time conventioneers. None of it is really Origins specific.
1. Don't buy anything on your first trip through the dealer's room. You'll see all kinds of cool stuff and spend too much money too early.
I teach, and run rehearsal for the High School Musical, so I'm on my feet around ten hours a day. This is not a problem, but thanks!2. You will be walking, LOTS. Plan accordingly. I strongly recommend getting some Dr. Scholl's heavy duty insoles unless you already have a job where you're on your feet 8 hours a day.
Thanks for the rest, too.3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
Yea, I sent an email yesterday. I signed up Friday, and was giving them the beginning of the week. We'll see what happens.Crothian
The badge info should be relatively fast. I got mine a few minutes after I signed up. How long has it been ? You might want to contact them and see what's up.

Cool, I am up in Columbiana, which is just east of Salem, derbacher said:15 miles west of Steubenville on 22 to Cadiz (the Birthplace Of Clark Gable), then 7 miles south on Rt. 9, you come to the quiet (read: dead) hamlet of New Athens. 13 miles north of St.Clairsville (if that is any indication.)
