Help making a thief

Is there anything else I should be trying to do with this character?
I would like to try and avoid face to face melee as much as possible, using tumble and sneak attack. The character is really going to be a dungeon specialist not an urban thief.

help with rogue

the quintissential rogue as was already mentioned earlier has a wealth of information as does "Traps and Trechery" find out if your DM is going to allow these books in his campaign before you set your character concept in stone. There are feats that can make you a more combat rogue to be found here ie: splintering strike which lets you do sneak attack damage to constructs. There are feats for in INT as wells as a CHA type rogue as well.

If it's allowed I usually try to take Quick Learner from the path of magic book. I find that even 14 skill points will not allow me to take the all that I feel a rogue needs. because the rogues strength is in his skills, I feel that your best stats should be INT, DEX and CHA. This way you can have all of the skills to be as self-sufficent as possible.

Remember you will usually be scouting ahead of the party and will have to fend for yourself until they can catch up to you if anything happens to you. At lower levels, lightning reflexes, toughness, weapon finess, combat reflexes, and improved inniative are all very usefull feats to take
