Help me find this story...(My wife thanks you.)

So we were talking earlier today, and my wife asks me if I recall a book she read. She thinks it was one of my books, but it doesn't sound like anything I've read.

For the record, if it turns out we're looking for a movie, that's okay too (sounds like a movie to me).

She says that the characters were lost in the bermuda triangle, and have recently started reappearing. She says that these characters were actually abducted by aliens, infected, and then returned. Once the alien infection matures, it breaks out of your body, killing you, and then starts looking for another host to infect. Apparently, the creatures can't stand cold weather, so the remains of humanity start retreating to the more Northern climes to escape. And she says that one sign you've been infected, is the need to eat large quantities of raw liver. Apparently, they resemble large mosquito/insect analogues.

Any ideas?

I can't find anything. Is she sure she's not mixing a couple of different sources up? The story as described sounds too involved for a movie. Especially for a b-movie or independent movie (I'm positive no a-list film has had a plot like this). The last part about humanity retreating implies something longer than 90 min.

The best bet I've been able to find is the Animorphs series. There's 50 odd books in the series and has been made into a movie. However, I can't find anything about the bermuda triangle fitting into the plot and your description seems kind of bloody for a kids series.

Turns out we found it. Its an old paperback entitled 'Earth Has Been Found.'

My dad loaned it to me eaons ago, and I never read it. I didn't know she had...
