Help ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Druids... the last druid I beat in an arena fight was killed by direct damage spells. What you should have taken? Orb spells. Hit him and nail him but the range is bad. Grease on yourself would be good to get out of grapples. DimDoor rocks too to get away and stay there, slinging fireballs.

Dispel Magic on the druid, he needs his buffs and his protective spells, otherwise your fireballs will kill him.

Fly, Fireball, and Dispel Magic (if you have those). Dispel him if you need to, pound him in the air. Call lightning does too little damage to be a true threat if your constantly hitting him with your own blast power.

Thanks

um so then which spells would you take?
Can you change your spells?

Swap fireball for lightning bolt. And if he's protected against fire and electricity, that will take up two spells.

Maybe consider dispel magic, if he's going to have a chance to buff himself before the fight.

Any chances of him having a brooch of shielding? If he negates all your offensive spells, you aren't going to be able to kill him.

I'm a big fan of alter self. A mage armoured, shielded troglodyte is too tough in the short term for a hundred dire bats.

Assuming you get at least some time to prepare, I'd also suggest casting false life a couple of times. It won't stack but you can take the best roll.

Its all moot if you can't survive a couple of flame strikes, however. (This assumes the druid has 18 wisdom instead of 18 charisma).

On the basis of the information available, the Reflex DC is 18 and you get +5 to reflex saves. The most likely scenario is you'll make one save and fail the other. Second most likely is you'll fail them both.

Scenario 1 is you take 24.5 damage from one and 12.25 from the second. Call it 37 hp. How many have you got? 4+(6x2.5)+21 = 40 hp. Of course, there's the false life on top.

Scenario 2 is you take 49 hp. Ouch.

Resist or protection from energy (fire) seems like a good idea.

Well,

If your DM plays Druids like I play Druids you are in a world of hurt in a fair fight. I know I would open up with Summoned Swarms to distract your spell casting. If the Animal Companion can keep you distracted for a round they'll probably start summoning. If not then expect a lot of spells to limit your mobility and spellcasting. Once you're nailed down they will start hammering you with the damaging spells.

Your best bet is to stay mobile and stay at range. The Druids best tactics against you are close range and touch. If they can get on top of you then you'll be in Fort save hell. If the Druid starts to Summon do anything you can to hit them and force the concentration rolls. If he gets one summon off you'll quickly be out manuevered.

If you can, let us know how the engagement goes. I'm curious to hear what tactics your DM uses.

Jack

oh yeah I will definately let you guys know ow it goes!! though I am really not sure how this is going to go and I am quite nervous. I am doing some studying

Protection from Evil will stop 100% of the melee damage from druid summoned critters.

Fly. At long range. Over a desert. Magic Missile him into oblivion.
