im thinking human +2 strength

19 stn 14 con 13 dex 8 int 14wis 10 cha

armor prof chain mail and scale

and thinking about weapon prof

The shifter variant which gets +2 Str and +2 Wis is a good bet from a race point of view.

I've seen a fun and effective two weapon ranger who used twin strike for his main attacks and when choosing his powers he focussed on things that would give him additional actions - minor action attacks, immediate interrupt attacks and so forth.

Certainly worth doing.

Cheers

Warforged Beast Master Ranger, with "warforged" Wolf, Double Sword, and the Warforged Tactics feat. That could be fun.

i think human is good for the extra frat and i think preception is importent
so mark of detection

but at level 2 if om human i can take 3 feats so i can get up to 19 ac but i wonder if its worth it

or i cold go for damage i am uncertain witch is better

Rangers are strikers, therefore in my opinion if you are going to optimize it, you optimize for damage.

A good path to take for extreme damage per round as noted above is the Stormwarden Paragon path build. Boost Strength for accuracy and damage, and boost Dex as high as possible. This takes advantage of Blade Storm and Twin Blade Storm (Auto Dex mod damage to adjacent enemies) and Scimitar Dance (Dex mod damage on a miss).

Additionally, take the fighter multiclass feat Battle Awareness, then Adept(?) Power and pick up Rain of Steel for even more automatic damage.

Humans and Half Orcs can both pull this off well, Half Orcs get more Dex, but Humans get Action Surge. I'd recommend starting with Str as high as possible and Dex next highest.

Alternatively, boost wisdom instead, and multiclass fighter and take the Pit Fighter Paragon path. Adds your Wis mod to damage, and half level to damage when you use an action point which can pile on some serious hurt. Again picking up Rain of Steel or Quicksilver stance will help even more. Longtooth Shifters and Humans again are prime choices for this build.
