Help out a bit with tips n answers?

Okay, we'll take it from the beginning. Pardon me if I seem to be going into "use small words" mode, but you said you're new, so I'm going to treat you like that.

Pick someone in your party who will be your best friend. A melee combat type.

When a fight starts, work with that person. You two keep each other alive.

Use this person as your battle partner. Whenever they're fighting something face to face, you want to be on the opposite side of that "something", ripping its liver out.

This opposing position is called a "flank". Attacking from a flank position gives both you and your partner a +2 to hit, and you get to do extra damage. This is usually referred to as "sneak damage" or "sneak dice". It's one or more extra 6 sided dice of damage you get for every hit.

Be aware of timing: Some times you can provide a flank for one ally, take your shot on your turn, then move a step (5 feet) to set up a flank for another ally, so they get the cheap shot on their action.

If they're smart, they take their shot then shift 5 feet, so the ally you helped the first time can step into that spot prior to attacking next round. This turns into a rotating dance that can be maintained for as long as the enemy is stupid enough to stand still and let you do it to them.

Next, as was said earlier, when your friends are thinking, "Hey-diddle-diddle, right up the middle!", you should be looking for a wall to hug. Whenever they want to stand in front of that door they're opening, you should be behind it. Preparing yourself for that flank position should become as natural as breathing.

No matter what your Sleight of Hand skill is, don't practice on your own party. Don't steal from them, don't cheat them, don''t double cross them. Or, in simpler terms don't pee where you drink.

Don't be a show off. Hide what you are and what you can do, even from your own party. Save your best stunts for when the Bandini is hitting the blower, and then blow everyone's sock's off when they least expect it.

Practice your disguise skill. Blending into a crowd should be as natural to you as blending into a shadow.

Stock up on Alchemical items like smoke bombs and flash powders. Be the unconventional fighter, the guy who is never where they expect him to be.

Max out your Spot, Listen and Search skills. Gather Information may or may not be your forte', but if you're the information source for the party then you get to influence what they do and where they go by deciding what info to share and how to express it.

Use Magic Device can be nice, presuming that your DM makes such devices readily available. Grease is a nasty 1st level spell to have on a scroll. So is Entangle, for wilderness encounters. Invisibility is your best friend.

Final note: Read the rules. Read them several times. Catching an enemy by surprise is nice. Letting the rules catch you by surprise sucks every time.

Dandu, i'm gonna try to put points into those, thanks for the tips, any other tips you can give me skill-wise?

@Rhum thanks, mobility does sound good, just scared to let my oop get an attack of opportunity

JIMrock, those are all awesome tips thanks! i will keep all that in mind, any other stuff that i can know?? or any site that i can check to know more stuff ?...

@Greenfield , thanks! this is also all very helpful! i liked the flashpowder one..any other has useful has that one? i already have smoke bombs but they cost a pretty penny...anything else that i can know??

Also..what i'm looking for are items or stuff that can help me get out of combat being in melee, smokebombs, flashpowder...would i be able to use a magical devise for invisibility ??

Also... i'm wanting to make my rogue inmune to poisons... would i have to go to a wizard/mage so he can "maybe" cast a spell on me which would last forever...or a potion......or would i be needing just a feat for that kind of protection? because what i wanna do is...always have a pill in my pockets with instant kill poison, pop it in my mouth, and when someone is very close to me, i can do an Asian Mist technique..and spray it on him. :D

The only spell I know of that grants poison immunity is Hero's Feast. It's a Divine spell, so going to a Wizard might not do any good. In any case, it can't be made permanent.

I also know of no Feat to accomplish this either, and to be frank, as I DM I wouldn't allow such a thing anyway.

There may be feats and spells that will do what you want, mind you, I just don't know of them.

There are some races and templates that may grant it, but you pay for them in lots of ways, ECL adjustments being just one of them.

A Periapt of Proof Against Poison will make you immune to poisons.

I also know of no Feat to accomplish this either, and to be frank, as I DM I wouldn't allow such a thing anyway.
Why not? It's not like it would be an especially powerful feat. Monks get it, and they're not overpowered. Druids get it and... well, they're overpowered, but not because they're immune to poison.

Just be smart with your movement, and bump your Tumble skill as high as possible. Tumble allows you to move through areas without provoking AoO.

The reason I wouldn't allow poison immunity as a Feat is precisely because it is a Monk class ability. And it doesn't come easily to the Monk either. (i.e. not a 1st level ability).

Yes, there's an item, probably more than one. Yes, there's a class ability, again probably more than one class with it.

But you don't hand out such class abilities to just anyone. You want it? In my game you earn it, specifically by finding that very precious item. (hint, the head of the Assassin's guild probably has one, though he won't admit it.) Or you take the time to earn those Monk levels.

Other DMs might invent such feats, and I'm sure if you look in enough 3rd party books you can find one, but it's not something every DM will like or allow.

Pred, what you should take away from this conversation is that if you wish to obtain Poison Immunity, take levels in Druid.

Alright alright... ive been reading the tumble skill over and over...i just need a bit more explanation on how or when i can use it... i know i can ''tumble'' towards my opp... but what does..tumbling mean?? is it safer than to just hide in shadows..move silently and set up?? i know i can do rolls, black-flips and the such..acrobatic stuff..with the jump skill and so on....

But, would i be able to tumble past them, and then hide? this is an important question, trying to learn here ^_^ and...can i use tumble with dodge/evasion to do the said...dodging ?

Also, yeah i can get your point @Greenfield ,would seem a bit OP or abusive which is something my DM also said..id personally like to earn it thru any means..gonna depend on my DM but...i'm mostly thinking/wanting something that will burn my opp's eyes..like said pepper spray...only it being some substance that won't be harmful when applied to me mouth so i can spray it in a mist form, which i can now do in RL heehee :P..

@Dandu seems like the easy choice... and I'm really wanting to go with shadowdancer once i hit lvl 10...if i manage to survive :P tho i will take it into consideracion...just seems a little to heavy to go into one class just for a feat or special attribute...aside from the rest that may come with it, tho id lose the skill and level up on the rogue's side...

PS: this is very helpful :) please provide any that you can!
