Help! Trying to hook the seemingly unhookable.

Last night's prelude seemed to go well. The player mentioned above had fun, and even got freaked out herself at one point. Apparently, the idea behind the game just didn't get through to her, but once she started playing, she got into it.

This makes the next session much easier to plan for.

Now if I set up the drummer with something incredibly badass, like a Dragonborn Fighter wielding a greataxe, don't overwhealm him with information, and totally emphasize how crazy awesome the battles are, (I.E., with a mighty swing of your axe, you cleave the kobold's head in two!) do you think it would be enough to interest him?

Anything you would like to share is greatly appreciated. Thank you! (And sorry for the long post.)

I'd actually suggest going another way. Find out what kind of movies (I.E. Fantasy) he does like and set-up your intro game like that. So if he likes action or crime movies then have a brief adventure in town where they recover a stolen item from the local mob (thieves guild) with lot's of shoot 'em up and martial arts goodness.
