Help with assasin death attack and poison

First Post
I'm soon going to run an encounter with an assasin who uses death attack... she also uses poison on her short sword that she will use to try her death attack... do i do the Death attack save first or the poison save first... this dose make a big difference because the poison dose con damage an can change the outcome of the death attack

Thanks thats what i was thinkging but i was not sure...That would be nasty...

Dm... you faild your fort save and now take 1d6 con damage
PC; that sucks...
DM on and you now have to make Frt save or die
PC buti just took con damge...
DM oh well you die

In our games, and the way I've seen it ruled before:

Death attack is handled first. If the death attack save is made, then damage is rolles and side-effects are applied - side effects such as poison.

as a footnote, Venport, please don't post using yellow as your font colour - anyone using the Stealth styleset is reading your posts on a pale grey / off-white background, and it is nearly impossible to read the text you've written.

This question pops up every 3 weeks or so, it seems. Death attack, then poison if the victim survives, was the consensus previously.
