I am finishing 3 Days to Kill (spoilers ahead, If you are one of my players don't read). In the adventure there is a mirror that has a portal to hell. Evil clerics are pulling monsters from hell to attack the PCs. In the adventure, when the mirror is broken, it causes the floor to glow and pulse. The evil cleric praises the dark one and says his time is near, but nothing else.
I would like the mirror to break into 3 pieces and summona destructive storm that slowly grows and never ends. The pieces of the mirror then meld into the floor and disappear leaving 3 portals. They have to go through the portals and retrive the broken pieces so clerics can stop the storm and remove the evil.
I thought since the mirror was a portal to hell it would be fun to incorporate Dante's 9 levels of hell into one of the portals. I am thinking that each of the levels could be represented by a different town.
I am going to start them in a town where gluttons are punished. I am going to have colonel Sanders in prison and make the colonel know where the mirror is. TThe Colonel will make a prison break and the players will have to chase down the colonel who will then take them on an intense trap, puzzle and creature laden adventure, where one of the mirror pieces will be found.
I am looking for ideas on how to represent some of the other towns with a specific type of sinner. The sins I could come up with with are: Sloth / noncommited, Lust, Wrath, Betrayal (the colonel will turn on them), gluttony, Envy, Greed, Pride, Suicide.
Any fun concepts to throw in the towns would be welcome. I am designing this to be a whacky run of adventures before we enter RttToEE and face little but dungeon crawl, so feel free to be VERY creative.
