D&D 5E Help with power gaming

The Paladin being the strongest class is simply my opinion. I'm sure not everybody would agree although I know a lot of people do. Take a close look at the class and add what you get. Pretty much all of the Oaths are strong in one way or another too. Pairing the Pally with any other Charisma based character like Bard, Warlock, and Sorcerer would be extremely strong. Pally/Warlock gets you recharging smites on short rests too.

I thought of another fun one. Oathbreaker Pally 20/Necromancer Wizard 20. You could make an overpowered undead army. The synergy is perfect. Throw in some Death Cleric too for even more fun.

You could ask your DM if you can take the same class to 20 twice. Like take Champion Fighter to 20, and then take Battlelmaster Fighter to 20 again and treat them like 2 separate classes instead of Fighter 40. You'd get 8 attacks, 3 fighting styles and 4 action surges.

Moon Druid 20/Monk 20 would be fun as well as Moon Druid 20/Barbarian 20 so you can rage in animal form but ultimately, Druids don't multiclass as well as most classes since your physical stats change as you shift from animal to animal.

I'm not a big fan of having huge armies behind me because other players then have to wait really long and i would do most of the stuff.
I doubt he would let us take same class twice because it could get really broken, you could take 8x level 5 fighter for 8 action surges and 8 extra attacks. But a 20/20 same class might be possible, i will ask.
For druid i was thinking making it CON and WIS based for Monk's Unarmored defense and because you take stats from beasts you would need many damage boosters like extra attacks, maybe d10 for damage from Monk, Action surge and Rage.

A Champion Fighter 20/Rogue 20 would have a 15% chance of critting per attack(x4) and getting to roll 20d6 but only once per turn. This would be a great character especially ranged.

But a Half Orc Champion Fighter/Barbarian 20 would get a 15% chance of critting per attack(x5) and getting to roll 5d12(assuming greataxe) but can do so on every hit every round. The Barbarian can choose to attack with advantage every swing too giving you a much better than 15% to crit. The math says on average you would crit at least once a round. Your regular hit would be 1d12+7(Str)+4 extra rage damage +10 with GWM feat so 1d12+21 per hit with 5 attacks per round normally not counting bonus action or reaction or use of magic items. Imagine the round with you rolling about 25d12+105 if you get lucky with crits(Lucky feat would be epic here) and that is not even considering using an action surge.

Barbarian 20/Monk of the Long Death 20 would give you a base movement of 75ft a turn(lol) and unarmed strikes of 1d10+11 while raging. Long Death Monk gives you 25 temp hp every time you kill an enemy in melee. Mastery of Death lets you choose not to die as long as you have Ki remaining. Combine all that with Rage resistance and this character would be nearly impossible to kill. Take Mobile Feat and Elf Totem Barbarian for some silly 100ft movement per turn. You can also dash with a bonus action so it gets even sillier. Your fist would be your ranged weapons haha. This character would be fun to rp too. Kind of like a Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde. You try to keep calm but you usually just freak out and go ballistic. Only downfall would be only 3 regular attack per round with a reliable bonus action for 1 or 2 more.

Wood elf 17+2 dex, 15 Con, 14 Cha, 12+1 Wis.

Battlemaster fighter 5, (archery style, precision attack, elven accuracy (20 dex), multi-attack).
UA deep stalker ranger 5, (archery style (+4), crossbow expertise (3 attacks), multi-attack (4 attacks))
UA shadow sorcerer 2, (darkness as a bonus action = advantage on attacks and disadvantage to be hit. Sacrifice ranger spells for SP).
UA Redemption paladin 6 (Emergency healing, 21 AC, sharpshooter, multi-attack (5 attacks), +2 to all saves, more SP for darkness).
Long death Monk 14, (THP on kill, multi-attack (6 attacks), +4 Cha (20 Cha, +4 on all saves)), "i didn't die", proficiency on all saves and rerolls).
Battlemaster fighter 11 (+2 Cha, +1Con, +1 Wis (20 Cha, 16 Con, 14 Wis) multi-attack (7 attacks)).

Defense: 21 AC, disadvantage to be hit, +11 to all saves, 19 THP every time you kill something, 14 "didn't die" or save rerolls, range, and 60 move speed.
Offense: 7 attacks, -1 (-5+2+2) to hit, advantage, 1d6+5+10 damage, =117.6993125 DPR. +precision strike, +action surge.

2 levels left.

And depending on how the spell slots stack. Sorcerer 17/Wizard 17, or whatever you need to get 2 level 9 slots. (possibly an ally)

Cast wish -> simulacrum on yourself. Take a rest, then have your simulacrum cast wish->simulacrum on you, then run out to attack the enemies.

There are 14400 rounds in a day. Though I think this might be a bit too much even for your campaign.

Wow nice detailed build, looks really good!

Not sure i understand this.

Not sure i understand this.
Cast Simulacrum (probably via the Wish spell, which lets you ignore components and do it as an action) of someone with the Wish spell (could be youself, but easier with an ally) and their 9th level slot (after a long rest).

Simulacrum1 casts wish on the same person to make simulacrum2, and tells that simulacrum to follow your orders.
Simulacrum2 casts wish on the same person to make simulacrum3, and tells that simulacrum to follow your orders.
Simulacrum3 casts wish on the same person to make simulacrum3, and tells that simulacrum to follow your orders.
etc...

You get an army of 14,400 wizards every 24 hours. Their missing a level 9 slot, and half their HP. But still pretty unstoppable.

How about stacking of unarmored defense from barb & monk? Potential for 27 AC naked before magic items or spells (10+dex+wis+con) assuming maxed stats and the level 20 barb capstone.

Otherwise.. some combination of monk 18 (4 ASIs, extra attack #1, proficiency in all saves, "empty body" 4 ki for 1 min of concentration-free invisibility and resistance to all damage except force), hunter ranger 12 (3 ASIs, multiattack defense, extra attack#2, whirlwind attack), 5 levels of fighter (for action surge and extra attack #3), and some cleric/druid levels for flavor could be fun as well.

Ah i understand now, i didn't know what Simulacrum is.

Another question.

What happens to cantrips past level 17?

We don't know yet.

Unarmored defense doesn't stack, i already asked for Dragonborn Monk.
That build sounds fun, will check it out.
