D&D 5E Heroes of Hydellor

Seeing the lovely women work invigorates Theremin. He grabs his lute and starts singing a pleasant song about working maidens that distract the men around them. The song is meant to be amusing to both the men and women that hear it. Once done, he approached one the the ladies and asks if anything special is happening during the day.

He then heads to the saloon and adresses Irene. "Now that you have seen your beloved again, it is time for us to head to meet your father. He will want to know you are safe."

Mindra, who has been up for some time, will be waiting in the saloon for the others. She fiddles with her earring while she enjoy's Theremin's song, then will listen with interest for the answer to his question. She wondered herself about the attitude of the workers at the logging camp.

After Theremin's comment to Irene she will simply nod in agreement.

The working women seem to appreciate the song, smiling at Theremin and putting a little lilt in their step as they work. Some even hum along.

The young woman Theremin approached looked up from beating out some rugs and wiped her brow on her forehead. “Well now! It’s Sehanine’s Blessing,” the woman said. “The first o’ the month, the new moon. You staying for the moon circle tonight?”

“Bah!” chimed in her rug-beating companion, a stouter, more matronly woman. “Sehanine my fat arse.” The two women glared at each other for a moment, though neither seemed to want to get into the resulting religious argument in front of the attractive bard.

“It’s also the day the work crews rotate out,” the stout maron said. “The new crew will come in at midday, and we’ll be heading back to town after midday meal. Can’t leave the place slovenly, or the other ladies will talk!”

Irene smiled at Theremin when he approached and took his hand in hers. “I can’t thank you and your friends enough for saving me,” she said, giving the handsome bard a kiss on the cheek. “I don’t know why the goblins took me, but it would have been awful to have been married to that brute!” She looked off wistfully in the direction Curdy had disappeared. “Yes, I should get back to Grandfather so he doesn’t worry. Thank you.”

Keladora came inside the saloon after the adventurers. She put the brass brazier she had been polishing onto a wooden stand. Neither had been there the night before. The Woodchip Saloon was more for drinking than dining. Cliant poured them all a morning ale while Keladora went to fetch breakfast from the mess hall. What she put before them wasn’t the usual stolid breakfast porridge of the working man that the lumberjacks usually ate, but a hearty fry up of eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and some mushrooms, all stirred up together. She also put down some loaves of sweetbread and a pot of honey. By the meal alone, it definitely seemed a special day.

"Sounds like travelling back to town with the logging crew is our best bet," says Coriana while greedily attacking the hearty breakfast. "It will provide protection for us and them."

"Speaking of protection, would there be anywhere around here I could purchase a small shield or buckler? Seems I'm stuck on land for a while and I think I could use a little more protection in a fight."

Cliant returned to the bar and started polishing the mugs. “Well,” he considered Coriana’s request, “the militia an’ People’s army are really the only ones with weapons an’ armor ‘round here. If you want to try, you could talk to the camp garrison in the west bunkhouse. They’re a pretty worthless lot, but they might be willing to sell you something on the side.”

OOC: While the moon circle sounds interesting, it does make the most sense to travel back with the logging crew. And we should get Irene back as soon as possible.

Having already, in her opinion, found the garrisons armory to be worthless, Mindra will skip that and simply prepare for the journey with what she has. :)

Liam woke, feeling refreshed. He stretched the soreness out of his arms and legs. He picked up the Smoking bottle, turning it over in his hand, admiring the craftsmanship. It could be useful, as a means to hide. He could see the intricate magical lines running throughout the etchings. Maybe he’d study them one day.

He set it down and looked in the mirror. He was taken aback by what he saw. He really needed a shave, and his hair was all over the place. Being nearly blind has played havoc on his appearance. At least he could see, now, even if light was nearly overwhelming and he did have to wear a blindfold just to block out enough light to be sort of comfortable. Currently, he had heavy curtains on the windows, and all the candles doused. The room was nearly pitch black, but he could see just fine.

He went to work, making himself presentable. Then he dressed, putting on his blindfold and then his hat, and made his way out into the bright world, meeting up with the rest as Cliant was talking about a garrison where they could find supplies.
