Greetings!

Hello Enchantress, and welcome! I hope that you enjoy yourself here!

Might I also suggest that you think about a Ring of Mind Shielding, and perhaps customizing the ring with a few other special spells like Mage Hand, and Mage Armor. I also like a Ring of Animal Friendship. That is 12 HD worth of an animal friend, for anyone who wears such a ring, so you don't have to be a Ranger or a Druid. If your DM will allow you to augment the Ring of Animal Friendship, which I think costs 9500 GP, with an additional property of the same thing, thus making it have 24 HD worth of animal power in the same ring would be cool. That would cost if I recall correctly, (19000 GP). Of course, having a pair of 12 HD Dire Wolves or a 24 HD Dire Tiger as a companion for a Sorceress can come in quite handy. I might also suggest that having (3) 8-HD Dire Apes could be fun, too.

Wands of various kinds can be very powerful for you as well. Also, don't overlook the usefulness of having a Hat of Disguise, Heward's Handy Haversack, and a Decanter of Endless Water. These items, among others, are not terribly expensive, but are quite useful, and they also have enduring value no matter what level your character is.

I hope these help!:)

Semper Fidelis,

SHARK

What is HD?
if you hang out here long enough, you'll get used to the abreviations. HD is Hit Dice, which determine hit points (of course). your 3rd level Druid has 3 Hit Dice, so a '24 HD Dire Tiger' would be about eight times as tough (and much bigger, stronger, and so on)

Greetings!

Hey there Enchantress!

HD=Hit Dice. (The dice used to determine creature's hit points, and overall power and abilities.)

Example: A young dog might have 1HD. A full-grown Dire Ape can have a minimum of 5 HD, and potentially up to 15 HD. This means that the creature with the greater HD will have more hit points, better attacks, better saves, and so on, than a creature with fewer HD. Thus, animals or pets with more HD are more helpful and stronger, and thus more survivable, while accompanying you on adventures, than smaller, weaker creatures with fewer HD.

How's that sound?:)

Welkome to the boards.

If this will be your first 3e character I would actually advice to start of lower at 2e or 3e level instead of 10th.
Starting lower will give you a better grasp of the rules and of the characters abilities.

Phew! Much better! You guys gotta remember that I just started playing. I haven't even gotten my own set of dice and a player's handbook yet. Tragically, I am very broke at the moment. (It is getting close to Christmas.):(
