A while ago i tried to draw up tables for the optimal way to approach Risk! Now, i could probaly bust out a C++ program that would simulate it pretty well. Its just a bit hard, because you pair up the dice not in the way they were rolled, but by thier result.
 



Huh... I just did the calcs right now for the first few, and:

A = attacker
D = Defender

1A / 1D (simple case)
15 / 36 the attacker wins

1A / 2D
55 / 216 the attacker wins

2A / 1D
125 / 216 the attacker wins

It ends up that the attacker allways has a disadvantage because he loses when the rolls are even.

2A / 2D becomes a much harder problem because there can be multiple wins and you have to pair up winners and losers. I bet its simplest just to simulate it and find the averages
 


That reminds me... I've discovered a new group I like called "Evanescence"... really cool music. But I continue my search for more good music groups!
 



darn it. that was a slipup. I dont know the consequences, but i know the rule: Dont do it. In hivemind threads i always turn my sig of, so as to not destroy the boards...
