The town is growing quickly, becoming a suburb or Corpus Christi, which is growing as fast as it can. Unfortunatly in both cities progress is often held up by a predominantly older, Texan German population, that would prefer a quiet, lazy world. A large restraunt chain tried to put up a large portion of money towards improving Corpus Christi's waterfront, making it more touristy. The city voted it down. The town needs revenue, and this may have done it.
Orange Grove where I live has a similar problem. Luckily I know the mayor, and my grandfather was once on the School Board with him.
