Life is good. I'm trying to put together a London Gameday and get a work project done. Getting on top of some reading for next year. Just bought myself a keyboard, so I'll be back playing the piano-type-thingy on Monday!

Capellan is in the UK and we're going to meet up and see a musical, which should be a good laugh. And my friend Simson and I are getting through Baldur's Gate together. So all is well!

Yup, you got your convert. I didn't like S4 all too much though - but I'm still grumpy that I've got nothing new now until roundabouts Christmas. [Sigh.] Gamedays are fun - and iff'n I remember correctly, you've got more than enough people around London to have a fairly large one. So - what're you reading? Interesting stuff?

In reverse order:

2) BG with rules I can understand? Good plan.

3) No, I didn't think that much of Season 4 either. Riley sucks, for one thing. And there were just a lot of things in it that didn't seem to work. Season 5 is a hundred times better.

I'm reading about derivational phonology and X-bar theory in syntax. Both are difficult, but interesting.

4) Musicals rock. My favourite is Phantom. Yes, I know I'm sad!

Heck, if you've actually managed to put up with Aerie long enough to fight Irenicus, I'm amazed. I did it once, to complete the romance, but that's been it. And I've got a feeling that if this conversion works, they'll do ToB. They mentioned even porting over BGI, which would be amazing. (Sure, it doesn't have quite the character depth BG2 had, but that's because they were still working with the engine. Some capable modders could fix that.)

And, about IWD2 - it's an amazing interface. It integrates the 3E rules very nicely, though it's still far to easy to abuse rogue characters, due to AI that will allow itself to be continually - umm, can't say backstabbed, umm... denied their dex bonus. My only complaint is the lack of character interaction, but that's an IWD staple. The NPC's are great, though.
